How difficult is it from the hero of colorful magazines to transform into a creator spoiled by critics? I wonder what answer Ben Affleck would give to this question? Not long ago, it was pigeonholed and patched. At that time, hardly anyone expected that he would escape this image. Meanwhile, the star had completely different plans - he stabilized as a husband and father, and then boldly fought for his directorial projects.

Result? Just watch "Operation Argo". If anyone had reservations about Ben Affleck's workshop, they would lose them after his latest film. This time it presents a political thriller that is worthy of comparison to the best representatives of this genre - unbearable, where understatements, individual words, looks build mood and tension.

It's not enough to assemble a few dark frames or pull a corpse out of the closet. For a political thriller to make sense and draw you in, the director must have an intelligent script at his disposal to work on the details in a pedantic way. Affleck apparently understood these patterns, because "Argo" cannot be faulted. He was inspired by the true story of six employees of the American embassy in Iran, who during the assault in Tehran in 1979, managed to slip out of the controlled building and find shelter in the property of the Canadian ambassador. The CIA has little room for maneuver in this area, so it sends one of its agents to fight, which in an original way decides to organize a return trip for them.

Ben Affleck did not, of course, stick to historical facts. In the script written by Chris Terrio, the final scenes were presented differently than in reality.

Changes may upset the experts on the topic, while viewers will bring to a boil. The accumulating tension at the end of the film best reflects how uninteresting relations America has been with the Middle East. The cast is also working on the success of "Argo". Bryan Cranston, star of the critically acclaimed television series "Breaking Bad", along with John Goodman or Alan Arkin create strong support for Ben Affleck. The historical background is a supplement to these creations. The climate and fashion of the late 70s and early 80s was visualized by the creators without any mishaps. "Operation Argo" is certainly another important step in Affleck's career. Not only did he guarantee fascinating entertainment, he also presented an interesting context. Most importantly - it evolves with each subsequent project. And he was only 40 years old! I keep my fingers crossed for Affleck, because the fight against stereotypes is always worth the effort. .
