YouTuber and Minecraft streamer Technoblade has died at the age of 23 after a year-long battle with stage four cancer.



The content creator from San Francisco who kept his identity secret and only revealed his name in the final video as "Alex" rose to fame after posting videos of himself playing Minecraft online in 2013. He eventually went on to gain more than 10,000,000 subscribers.



He was diagnosed as stage four cancer in August last year and had spent most the year away form the public eye while undergoing chemotherapy.



Although Alex isn't sure what kind of cancer he had, he raised funds for sarcoma charities. He revealed in December that he had received surgery to remove an arm tumor. my games



Technoblade's YouTube channel uploaded a video today entitled "So long nerds", in which his father, who was not identified, shared the heartbreaking news and a posthumous farewell from the YouTube legend.



He called his son "the best kid" and then shared an audio recording from his son. He said: "If I had another hundred life, I think that I would choose Technoblade again every single day as those were my happiest years in my life."

Technoblade was a highly private person who rarely shared his personal details. He mostly posted videos about the sandbox game Minecraft.



He had three younger sisters and a brother named Chris, as well as a dog called Floof, who featured in his farewell video alongside his father.



In one video, he said that his parents had divorced and that they lived together. His father owns a movie studio.



He completed high school and took a gap year, before moving to Chicago, where he studied English.

However he moved back to San Francisco after dropping out.



In one of his videos, he explains how he created the Tecnoblade channel solely to gain confidence and get 10,000,000 subscribers.



He quickly built up a huge following and shared many clips of himself playing Minecraft. However, he never revealed the identity of his fans.



In August, however, he shared the shocking news that he had been diagnosed with cancer in a video called "Where have you been" which has been viewed 13,000,000 times.



In the video, he revealed to fans that he was diagnosed as having cancer after believing he had suffered an arm injury.
