It's been a few months since we first learned about Minecraft Earth, the augmented real-world version of the game that gives the real world a playground full of your blocky creations. The company said that an alpha version of the game would be released in the summer. Now, with Servers for the game, the company claims it will be available on iOS within the next two weeks. Servers will follow "soon following that."

The launch of the game on iOS isn't a surprise after we got our first glimpse of live gameplay during WWDC last month. The trailer offers more information about the game. However, it's worth taking a look at the Apple demo to find out if you have any questions.

To be one of the first players to have access, you'll need to sign up for the game right here (you'll require a smartphone running at minimum iOS 10 or Android 7 to play, as per the FAQ). Access is restricted while they work out load on the game's servers but you'll need to be active in it -- if you don't play for a period of seven days, then another player will be given your slot. You'll require an account on Microsoft or Xbox Live account to register after which once you've signed up , there's nothing else to do except wait, and then get ready to build.

Think life is good? It's about to go into beta! The Minecraft Earth closed beta is scheduled to be played in a handful of locations. Learn what to expect, and register for your chance to play!
